About Me

I’m a community advocate, arts organizer, and mother of four. I believe schools should be places of belonging, growth, and opportunity.

My work has always been rooted in creating access, uplifting voices that are often overlooked, and building systems that serve the whole community, not just the few.

That’s the same approach I bring to this campaign.

Why I’m Running

I’m running for the Park Hill School Board because I genuinely love being part of the Park Hill community. I also believe our schools are strongest when leadership is rooted in lived experience, care, empathy, and accountability.

Park Hill has been our home for 12+ years. These years have brought amazing memories, band family togetherness, theatre productions and so much more. These years have also endured heartache and times when we as a family wished we had more support from the district that we call home. Accounting from personal experiences, I hope to bring that piece we had hoped for to the forefront of the community. In this role, I hope to help all families feel included, supported, and truly “Park Hill”.

My identity and experiences have taught me important facets on how to govern. I’m a Chicana (Mexican-American), from a working-class family, and the daughter of an undocumented father. I know what it means to navigate systems that weren’t built with you in mind. I also know what happens when the community steps up and says: we belong here too. That perspective shapes how I lead — with empathy, clarity, and a commitment to equity that’s grounded in real life, not theory.

This campaign for school board isn’t about politics. It’s about listening, strengthening what already works, and making sure every student in Park Hill feels supported, represented, and prepared for what’s next. If elected as a board member, I will to put our community first — with dedication, thoughtfulness, and transparency. I will be a voice for those who aren’t sitting at the table.

1. Community

Our students and families are diverse, resilient, and deeply invested in their schools. Leadership should reflect that. When lived experience is part of decision-making, choices are more thoughtful, inclusive, and grounded in reality.

2. Equity

Every student deserves access to opportunity, support, and resources, regardless of background or circumstance. Equity isn’t abstract; it’s about making sure systems actually work for the people they’re meant to serve.

3. Collaboration

The best solutions come from educators, families, and students working in partnership. I’m running to bring more transparency, trust, and collaboration into school board leadership and to help our schools keep moving forward in ways that feel right for this community.
